The ACT OSGLI is seeking a motivated, self-driven undergraduate or graduate surveyor to work in a small team focussed to deliver a range of regulatory functions for the surveying industry plus the capture and maintenance of spatial data within the ACT. The role is temporary for up to 3 months with the possibility of extension or permanency, ideally we would like someone full-time but can be flexible.

The successful applicant will gain a diverse range of experience in cadastral and precise control surveying. It is expected the successful applicant will be either an under-graduate or graduate who is interested in pursuing registration as a Land Surveyor for which the OSGLI will provide a generous study assistance package.

The successful applicant will, with professional guidance and direction, undertake a range of duties including:

  • Perform preliminary examination of cadastral survey plans, including field inspections.
  • Perform cadastral investigation surveys including field work, office calculations and plan production.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the ACT’s Spatial Data Management System, in particular the updating of the digital cadastral database.
  • Assist, as required, with survey field work and office work for horizontal and vertical control surveys, including the use of GNSS equipment.
  • Participate in workplace safety processes.
  • Maintain records in accordance with the Territory Records Act 2002.
